Welcome to PPoPP'12

17th ACM SIGPLAN Symposium on Principles and Practice of Parallel Programming

February 25-29, 2012, New Orleans, LA, USA
(co-located with HPCA-18)

New Orleans

Welcome

PPoPP is a forum for leading work on all aspects of parallel programming, including foundational and theoretical aspects, techniques, tools, and practical experiences. In the context of the symposium, "parallel programming" encompasses work on concurrent and parallel systems (multicore, multithreaded, heterogeneous, clustered systems, distributed systems, and large scale machines). Given the rise of parallel architectures into the consumer market (desktops, laptops, and mobile devices), PPoPP is particularly interested in work that addresses new parallel workloads, techniques and tools that attempt to improve the productivity of parallel programming, and work towards improved synergy with such emerging architectures.

Conference Information

The ACM SIGPLAN 2012 Symposium on Principles and Practice of Parallel Programming will be held in New Orleans, LA, February 25-29, 2012. The goal of the PPoPP Symposia is to provide a forum for papers on the principles and foundations of parallel programming, tools and techniques for parallel programming, and experiences in using parallel programming to solve applications problems.

As in previous years, PPOPP'12 will feature a single-track program of talks for the accepted full papers, along with sessions for submissions accepted for poster presentation. The published proceedings will include all full papers as well as 2-page summaries of posters from authors who choose to provide it. It is the clear intent of the conference that the published summary of a poster should not preclude the publication of the work through a full paper in a conference and/or journal in the future.

PPoPP'12 will be co-located with HPCA-18.
